The Philippines is one of the countries that is highly vulnerable to climate change, ranking 17th in the world as the most affected country from extreme weather events in the 2021 Global Climate Risk Index. It has become a public health issue as no disease group is spared from its impact - from heat-related illnesses to zoonotic diseases such as the Covid-19 disease.
