News - Eight Million Filipino Women Benefited from Family Planning in 2019

PopCom reported that the 2019 modern contraceptive prevalence rate for all women was projected at 58 percent, or around 7.8 million women, almost within the target of the Philippine Devevelopment Plan 2017-2022.

Family planning is one of the key result areas of the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Law of 2012. The others are (1) maternal, neonatal, child health and nutrition; (2) adolescent sexual and reproductive health; (3) sexuality transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS; and (4) elimination of violence against women and children.

The status of these key result areas are reported to the President and to Congress every year by the National Implementation for the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act (RPRH) of 2012.
